Alvin “Al” J. Nickels, Jr., 54, of Oconto formerly of Green Bay, died peacefully and unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, June 27, 2012. He was born to the late Alvin J. and Marion (Evensen) Nickels, Sr. April 18, 1958 in Green Bay. Al and Vicki owned and operated Flashpoint Oil Recycling. Al loved playing and listening to music and enjoyed fishing, boating, barbequing, muscle cars and spending time with his family especially his companion Vicki and his little dog, Harley. Surviving are significant other, Vicki Hazen, Oconto, and her children Jessica and Andrew Hazen; 3 sisters, Shirley (Jim) Jepson, Suamico; Karen Moran, Tucson, AZ; Rosemary (Neil) Reynolds, Oconto; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Wayne. Friends may call at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago St., Oconto Saturday, June 30th from 9 A.M. until the time of Funeral Services at 12 Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Nick Johannes officiating. Placed to rest at the Polish National Cemetery, Town of Chase.
