Pastor Ron W. Hoffman, 79, of Gillett passed away peacefully at home in his sleep early in the morning Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019. He was born to the late Howard and Virginia (Hensley) Hoffman Sept. 4, 1940 in Cincinnati, OH. In sixth grade Ron began his first job as a paper boy for the Cincinnati Post. Ron graduated from Anderson High School in Cincinnati, OH. He attended Cedarville Baptist College for one year before attending Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music. He married the former Elaine Miller July 10, 1965 at Gillett Baptist Church. Ron was an associate pastor at Forestville Baptist Church in Cincinnati, OH from 1964–1966 before pastoring at Section Eight Baptist Church, Pound from 1966-1973. He also pastored at First Baptist Church in Fort Atkinson, WI from 1973-1986, while there two additional chapels were begun at Blackhawk and Palmyra. Ron returned to Section Eight Baptist Church, Pound in 1986 and pastored until 2002. In 2003 Ron and Elaine co-managed at a Holiday Retirement Community for two and a half years in Cincinnati, OH and four years in Middleton, WI. The couple retired to Gillett, WI in 2011. Ron enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, gardening, decorating – he even took a class in flower arranging.
He was such a loving husband and father. He loved all people and was truly a servant of God. He knew how to be an encouragement to everyone and lived it out in his own life. Never complaining, only loving. “Keep on keeping on” is what he is still saying.
He is survived by his loving wife Elaine, 3 children, Randy (Leanne) Hoffman, Ashland, WI; Todd (Jamie) Hoffman, Atlanta, GA; Alicia Pitcher, Porterfield, WI; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and 2 brothers, Ken Hoffman and Wayne (Pam) Hoffman.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Hoffman.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Section Eight Baptist Church, Pound Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 from 9:30 AM until the time of the Service at 11:30 AM with Pastor Reggie Reinhold, Pastor Kevin Holland and Rev.
