Obituary for Shirley Mae Nasgovitz

Shirley Mae Nasgovitz, 88, of Coleman, WI passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2018. She was born on October 27, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI.
Shirley married Raymond Nasgovitz on December 30, 1950. The pair initially lived in Maine where Ray was deployed with the US Marine Corp. Upon their return they settled in Coleman, WI where they resided until their passing.
Shirley’s primary occupation was raising her seven children and then later spending cherished time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley worked at a number of jobs including Bonds Pickle Factory, Coleman Canning Company and lastly at the Coleman School as a cook and server. In 1980, Ray and Shirley purchased R&S Liquor, which they ran together until their retirement in 1992.
Shirley was an avid gardener and reader. Her favorite book was Gone With the Wind and she never missed a chance to read the daily newspaper and specifically catch-up on the latest obits. Throughout the years, Shirley enjoyed many memorable trips with family and friends. While Shirley slowed down over the past two years, she took on the role of Corner Scoop Creamery’s official taste tester as they developed their recipes for their future store.
Shirley is survived by five children; Raymond (Linda), Linda (Larry) Janczak, Steve (Chris), Paul (Wendy), and Gayle; daughter-in-law Judy and family, ten grandchildren and seven grandchildren-in-law; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members. Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Ray, two children: Michael and Kathy Nasgovitz, her mother Ida Schwultz and many other special aunts and uncles.
The family wants to personally thank the family and friends who helped keep her safe and her home upkept. This includes: Crissee Gabriel, Peter Nasgovitz, Dale & Audrey Strehlow-Frederick, Geno Nosgovitz and Steve Brye. The family was blessed by everyone’s unconditional willingness to help. In addition, they want to call out all the nurses from Unity Hospice who supported them over the last few weeks.
Relatives and friends may call Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 221 N Louis Ave, Coleman, from 9:30 am on Wednesday, December 26th until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. Reverend Gregory Stahlecker will officiate. Burial will take place at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Pound.
